christmas fairy

This is today's card.

Jellypark Challenges has a photo inspiration challenge:

When I saw this photo, it reminded me of a fairy stamp I have. Her gown is made up of leaves and ribbon trailing down just like that. It's from a christmas set, so I made a christmas card. The fairy is stamped in clear ink, and embossed in copper. I've added a tinge of colour just for some highlights.

Simon Says Stamp wants shaped cards, so I made a round card, using an SB die. I used two shapes and tied them together with ribbon. Flutter By Wednesdays asked for stripes, and instead of printed paper, I decided to use corrugated board. There are more stripes inside, made with a Tim Holtz embossing folder. The sentiment is also embossed in copper on a scrap printed chipboard.
Most of the large surfaces have been misted, and the edges inked with antique linen and vintage photo DIs.

It is simply embellished with a ribbon bow, butterfly, button and gold twine. The handmade "pins" are stamens, with added pearl beads.

This card is also playing along with :
Make my Monday - butterflies/dragonflies
Papertake Weekly - anything goes (optional metal - copper embossed)
Crafty Catz - Christmas in July

supplies: spellbinders die, sizzix dies (leaves & label), cheery lynn die (butterfly), quickutz die (circle), free stamps from Cardmaking & Papercraft, sizzix embossing folder, ranger copper embossing powder, tattered angels glimmer mists, distress inks
