flowers & leaves

Simple fare for Make My Monday's challenge this week.

Using the sketch from Less Is More, and one of my favourite flower stamps from Viva Decor. The image has been coloured with pencils. The sentiment stamp is from Papermania.

Also playing at Simon says Stamp and Moving Along with the Times.

victorian ladies

 Happy Chinese New Year, everyone!
It's Day 3 of the Year of the Dragon, and what a great start it has been! Well, I get to spend time with family, and what's better than that!
~ Ü ~

I also get to GD for Papercraft Star, a great challenge blog! This week, the theme is Victorian, and these are my creations. I'm using images from the Victorian plate sponsored by theHouseAcrosstheBay.

The first one is a multi-layered card in pink & coral.

The second creation is a tag.

I hope you enjoy these creations, and will inspire you to play along as well!

santa in january

Yes, Christmas is over, and it's nearly time to celebrate the Year of the Dragon. But I still have a santa creation owing, and here it is

Based on the sketch by Kirsty through jingle belles, I've used a victorian santa image and created a card in red & green.

flower girl

Woohoo! I'm so excited to GD for Top Tip Tuesday this fortnight! I'm sorry I was not able to get online yesterday {life gets in the way sometimes ~ Ü ~}, so I'm only posting this now . . .

There are two sketches to follow, and I've opted for Sketch 1: Layers.

Using a new clear stamp from Pergamano which I got many months ago, but never got around to inking. Coloured in distress inks, with liquid pearl highlights. The ticket stamp is TH, and the sentiment is from Papermania.

The flowers are severely underused SB die cuts. Cut from thin kraft chipboard, inked and dotted with liquid pearls.

warm tea

Tags, tags, tags! I've been busy making tag cards for New year, and here's one with a different theme!
~ Ü ~

Inspiration comes from Papercraft Star, Crafty Ann's and Inspired by #5. Nothing like a hot beverage to warm you up on a cold wintry day.
~ Ü ~
I'm using a Japanese image from theHouseAcrosstheBay, and combined it with stamps from Papermania. I've had this stamp set for more than a year, and have never used these two stamps.

I love the new waves edge die from Lifestyle Crafts.

The teapot is stamped with onyx black, then coated with crackle paint for a textured effect. Predominantly maroon & black, the tag is topped and tailed in grosgrain and embellished with gems.

vintage christmas deco square

I'm having a ball with vintage prints and this time, it's a fat page
. . . such an odd name . . .
~ Ü ~

Pretty straightforward, this one! Embossed and inked background. Image stitched and the edges inked, layered over lace, ribbon & twine, with gems & gel dots for embellies.

Playing at Fat Pages with Attitude (though I find my creations generally do not have much attitude *Ü*), Dream Valley Challenges (Christmas), Flutter by Wednesdays (open), the ABC Challenge (green), Simply Create Too (layers, layers & more layers) and Crafty Calendar Challenge (Cold & Frosty)

birds in baby blue

Managed a second creation in one day.
~ Ü ~

Birds is this week's sub theme for this month's Make My Monday nature challenge.  Going a bit out of my comfort zone and using baby blue, with hints of pink & silver.

This card uses a bright blue cs base. The background is made up of flourish print paper, lace, ribbons and framed with silver peel offs. The main image has been adhered onto a paper doily, and foam-mounted. It is embellished with a silver painted flourish die cut, satin ribbon bow, a button tied with a spanking new silver twine, and pearl dots.

fancy a cuppa?

So, do you

It's a new year, with more new things to try.
~ Ü ~

I've always wanted to try a teapot on a card. I've seen some lovely shabby chic ones and this is my attempt.

Purple-lilac tones are not really my kind of thing, but they're a lot more calming than browns, so wanted to give that a try, too.
The background paper is from a Pink Petticoat paper stack, bordered in a darker shade of purple, and subsequently layered with cream organza ribbon, purple ribbon and a doily. The doily has been dry-embossed with a sizzix folder. I think it's kinda cool.
The gracious hostess is an image from theHouseAcrosstheBay. The teapot and cup have been cut from a magazine download, as has the sentiment, and foam-mounted onto the card. Finished with lots of gel dots and pearls.
