sweet summer tilda

Something sweet and girly for today's card.

It's inspired by The Shabby Tea Room with this lovely pic

and using the colours pink, peach, green, neutrals and handmade flowers. The fruit box reminds me of a vintage card I made recently, so I decided to go sweet vintage for this card.

Yvonne has a guest challenge using ribbon flowers, which has inspired me in making this flower. I've always had trouble finishing the centres of paper flowers without buttons, brads and the sort. So why not try ribbon? So I made this rolled ribbon rose, and I think it looks fine!
~ Ü ~

The paper flower layers are cut from pink cs using sizzix TH tattered florals die. The edges have been inked with tattered rose & fired brick DIs. It is fnished with a sheer bow from my ribbon stash.

The background frame is cut from recycled kraft paper with a spellbinders die. The paper was originally used in a cotton wool roll. It is embossed, then inked with vintage photo DI.

The cotton wool has long since finished, so this is all that's left of that roll.

The background papers are free downloads from papercraft inspirations. I felt that the rose background was too starkly white, so i inked it with antique linen DI for a more vintage look.

Tilda has been coloured with a water brush and water colour pencils. She is sitting on a faux cushion (embossed with CB folder), which has been layered onto ribbon, over the framed background.

Other challenges entered are Magnolia Down Under Challenges, TOMIC and 365 Cards (combo of Day 84 - Tilda's dress, Day 119 - flowers & frame, & Day 151 - layers behind Tilda).

aww such a pretty card! LOVE the soft colours on this one. Your colouring on sweet Tilda is gorgeous! The background frame looks super dimensional. Your rolled rose center looks more than fine, it looks gorgeous! I do the same when I cant find the perfect flower center!
Thank you for playing along my challenge at Yvonne's blog!
