I've made another vintage card today. Hubby bought me a new printer, so I can print again!
~ Ü ~
The layout is based on the sketch over at Pink {INK} Sketch Challenges.
The colours do not come out well here. The twill has been hand-dyed with forest moss & antique linen DIs. It is finished with a button & gold twine.
The flower is made from kraft layered die cuts. I used TH tattered florals & SB carnation dies. The petals are clustered around gold-topped stamens, then finished with two home mixed mists. The first one is forest moss DI and a green patina PP, and the second is stormy sky DI mixed with blue patina PP.
Here's the frontal view.
The main image is "hung" from a brad with gold twine. It is framed with a label die cut from corrugated board, which has been painted with white tempera, and then inked. The corrugated board was "saved" from when the builders put in kitchen cabinets. It was used as a protective base during transport. The image itself has also been inked with DIs to its current state.
The base is finished with green ribbon lace atop pleated paper doiley. The "pearls" are gloss gel. One of my favourite and more oft-used embellishments. I seem to use a lot of liquid pearls, either transparent or opaque.
The background is also made from recycled waste. It's the protective paper that collects all the excess colour after misting other smaller items. I have stamped the corners of the base layer to give it a more ornate look.
All the edges have been distressed and inked with a mix of forest moss, stormy sky & vintage photo.
