blue ribbon rose

Another handmade flower today . . .

This card is based on the sketch from CardPatterns, and the colour is inspired by The Shabby Tea Room (my birthstone is sapphire). The ribbon rose is inspired by Yvonne's guest challenge. E.T. has a tutorial for a splendid ribbon flower. I've tried and tried but could not get a good result, so I shall have to stick to this for now. I'm presently also intrigued by CAS layouts, so I'm playing along with Less is More today.
Week  18 Monochrome, Week 22 Shades of Blue & Week 25 Ribbon.
No, not very much white space here, but for me, this is already well-pared down!

The ribbon is from Ikea, a purchase made years ago. It is wired, which makes it easy to hold together. The leaves are spellbinders, and the other die-cut shapes are lifestyle crafts's new nesting sets. The lighter background paper is a free download from cardmaking & papercraft. The darker one is from my stash. Inking is done with clearsnap and blended with stormy sky DI.

This photo was taken with the sun behind it, hence the purplish tone.

I am so sorry you couldnt get a good result from my tutorial... instead of gluing the ruffles, you can try sewing them... anyway, this is also really beautiful. I love the blue and green combo and wow that ribbon is gorgeous! I love how you have put everything together! Thank you participating in my challenge at Yvonne's blog. Good luck.
