peg board

The Crafty Pad has a wall hanging competition, and here's my entry

Not something fancy, but a practical peg board.
It's fortunate that the competition has been extended, because I started this two weeks ago, and never got round to completing it. Just managed to this morning.

I was inspired by a peg board I saw in a magazine a few months back. And what better excuse to use the TH house die! The houses have been coloured in sharpies.

The whole thing is made from cereal boxes. I layered them for sturdiness, then they were covered with wrapping paper. The edges have been sanded for more definition. And why purple? Because it's my daughter's current favourite colour. I have attached maroon grosgrain ribbon (the fabric element) as a base for the houses, and also to tie the whole project together.

Each peg has been covered with a TH mini label, a purple strip, and topped with a flower & button. The strip has been stamped with a dovecraft stamp, stitched around the edge, distressed and inked.

I'm also entering this into Simon Says Stamp & Show Some Up-Cycling/Re-Cycling, Crafty Ribbons Challenge (anything but a card) and Dream Valley Challenges (stitching).

Thanks for stopping by!
