Hi! I have a card to share today. It's spring and the fairies are sharing a playful romantic moment. I shall call it "Romance of the Fairies"
~ Ü ~
The image is part of a collage by
magic moonlight. It has been stitched onto red paper and white cs. The red paper is cut from a used ang pow (red envelope) from Chinese New Year. This has also been used as backing for the embossed panel, and the red butterfly. The embossed panel and the stamped background are recycled backing waste from misting. The darker panel is from the sweet melodies set from stitchy bear, which has been stitched on. Most items have been distressed and inked with antique linen, vintage photo, fired brick and my new BFF, walnut stain (I love the very dark, but not quite black edging) DIs.
Top Tips for today - before sewing layers together, use some adhesive at the centre so the layers will not run while running through the sewing ,machine. Make sure the adhesive does not reach the area to be stitched as the needle will collect the stickiness and be rendered completely useless (experience showing here! ~ Ü ~). Also, embossed papers will stretch and be distorted when run through the sewing machine.
Another recycle item - bookplate cut from cereal box. Painted, inked & crackled, to frame the sentiment of the piece. It is backed onto a border strip of corrugated board (painted white and inked), burlap twine and a piece of furry yarn.
Pretty pink roses from papermania. They were too "pink", so I sprayed them with some homemade mist. I can't recall the colour or mix I used but it's something yellowish/golden. These are framed with leaves, inked flourishes, and finished with gems, gel dots and pearly dots.
Final embellies - butterflies with bling!
