thursday challenge

I'm going to try something new today. Well, to me anyway. =) It's a common technique of using embossing as a resist.

This is a stamp from the Papermania birdsong collection. I used holographic embossing powder on an embossing ink. I've tried using pigment inks and distress inks for embossing but the powder never sticks well. They all say slow-drying but they do not work for me. Perhaps the paper I'm using is too absorbent.

The background is a blend of tattered rose, forest moss with a hint of stormy sky. The bird is coated with glossy accent and highlighted with fired brick on a brush.
