vintage baby

A third card today! Another entry for the vintage plus blue challenge over at 365 Cards. Also using the simple yet versatile sketch from Cupcake Crafts Challenges.

This is a much cleaner & simpler design. Fit for a new baby boy.

The blocks are made out of embossed card and corrugated card. The corrugated card was originally kraft, so I painted it white and edged it with stormy sky DI. The other block panels are also distressed and inked.

The image is framed with a pleated doiley. Adds a softer touch, I think. It is simply embellished with stitching, liquid pearls and pins of my own making.

vintage plus blue

Another card today...

Still playing along with 365 Cards, Day 170.

Going glittery for this with glitter embossed butterflies, gems and liquid pearls. Taking inspiration from City Crafter Challenge Blog, they are cut from scrap card, as is the flourish. All the paper used here are scraps; the large stamped piece is backing waste after misting, stitched onto a piece of leftover wrapping paper. So you can just imagine how much scrap (crap?) I have lying around ...

The base is finished with layered ribbons, bows and a button.

vintage plus red

It's vintage week over at 365 Cards, and I'm tagging along. First up is Day 168, vintage + red. This card is based on the sketch over at Cupcake Craft Challenges.

Just a simple layout, using blocks of distressed, stamped papers. They have all been stitched for a shabby finish. The top left block is covered in crackle paint to give it a subtle difference from the block below. The butterflies have been embossed in distress EP and the fairy has been raised with foam pads for more dimension.
